Yalobusha Kiln is Andrew Chiles and Ryan Pierce, of Ryan Pierce Furniture, LLC. Located in Coffeeville, Mississippi, in the old cotton gin downtown, Yalobusha Kiln seeks to fill a gap in the market by providing a variety of high quality kiln-dried hardwoods to the public. There are few local resources for craftsmen in need of lumber outside of common framing materials, while tree after good tree gets dumped in ditches. Furthermore, there are plenty of sawmills around, but few that can also dry your lumber to the point of usability, We hope to solve these problems and thereby provide our community with quality materials that can be built back into the community from which they came. As a testament to this idea and practice, Ryan Pierce is pictured below with a piece he built from an ancient oak tree that stood on the Oxford square beside St. Peter’s church. Some trees are too important to rot in a ditch, and saving them is at least part of what we hope to provide for our community.
